It is never too late to learn anything in life. For various reasons, I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to become confident with my driving. I didn’t want to do it the illegal way, so I got my permit, but my family refused to teach me and told me to find an instructor. It was a bit difficult, but I saw a friend of mine post about successfully obtaining her license with Capstone. I inquired a few months later and was never disappointed.
Mr. Ritchie Bardalez, the CEO of Capstone, is an exceptionally competent instructor. From the onset, he demonstrated professionalism and prompt communication. What truly impressed me was the comprehensive theoretical portion of the Driver’s education course, which is often overlooked in typical driving lessons. It covers essential topics and it is completed before the practical lessons.
In the practical sessions, Mr. Bardalez’ competence shines even more. His calm and patient demeanor creates a stress-free learning environment, allowing students to build confidence behind the wheel. He provides clear, step-by-step instructions and personalized feedback, helping students master essential driving skills. His ability to address individual learning needs and ensure thorough understanding is commendable.
Mr. Bardalez’ passion ensures that students fully grasp each concept and are fully competent to be on the road! I would definitely recommend Capstone – 6/5
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer instruction for manual (standard) transmission?
Currently, we only offer instruction for manual if the student provides their own vehicle. Capstone does not have a manual vehicle available for instruction. However, we recommend automatic because it is much less stressful on the learner, and because most modern vehicles are automatic.
How long does the course take?
The course takes approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks to complete. The theory component can be done within one week, and the practical takes four full days. Each day of the practical runs from 8am to 3pm.
Do you assist with the driver’s license practical?
Yes – at the conclusion of the lessons, most of our students have used Capstone’s vehicle to take the practical exam with their local Transport or City/Town Council. This isn’t officially part of the driver’s education program, but we do it to support students obtaining their driver’s license.
Do I need a valid learner’s permit to take the course?
Yes, you must have a valid learner’s permit to legally drive a vehicle during the course. While the process of obtaining a learner’s permit is not officially covered by the course, we often provide assistance and guidance to help you get your permit.
What is the process for obtaining a learner’s permit?
To obtain a learner’s permit, you must be at least 17 years of age. You will need to pick up an application form from your local Transport or City/Town Council office. The form includes a medical section that must be completed and signed by a doctor. Additionally, you need two passport-sized photographs, a copy of your Social Security card, and there is a $30 fee. If you live in a city or town, apply at your City/Town Council; if you live outside these areas, apply at your local Transport office. Depending on your municipality, you may receive the permit immediately or need to pass a written test first. An information sheet will be provided for studying the test material.
I had a learner’s permit but it expired. Can I renew it?
Permits are valid for one year. If your permit has expired, you can simply renew it instead of going through the entire application process once again.
